Villa Mussoorie is situated on the side of a hill on the northern coast of Koh Samui. This house was built and furnished by the owners as their own holiday home and has a feeling of comfort and peace. From the minute you walk through the double front door you experience the glorious view across the palm forests to the sea, with the magical Samui coastline and the northern islands of the archipelago beyond. Completed in 2003, Mussoorie possesses a light and airy ambience, with all rooms, including the bedrooms, taking the maximum advantage of the panorama. As is suggested by its name, the house is naturally cooled by hill breezes and to make the most of this, the upper living areas have many opening windows, ceiling fans and cool terracotta tiles underfoot; while the bedrooms have built-in air conditioning units and wood paneled floors.

The first floor comprises a spacious living room area with a balcony on which to sit and enjoy the daily spectacular sunrise. There is also a separate dining room and a fully fitted kitchen, all with high, beamed ceilings. The floor below has two large bedrooms, both with king size beds, and a smaller bedroom/study which has a double sized sofa-bed. The master bedroom has a dressing room area and a bathroom en suite. A separate bathroom is immediately adjacent to the second bedroom. Both of these principal bedrooms have large French-windows that open directly on to the pool deck. The study has both a home entertainment system capable of receiving some 40 TV channels. All of the rooms and public areas are furnished to a high standard.

The house is U-shaped and is built partially around a 9 x 4m. infinity-edged swimming pool, ensuring extensive privacy. The pool is 1.8m at the deep end. At the house end of the pool there is a submerged tiled seat which incorporates a Jacuzzi. On one side of the pool deck there is a dining area and on the other, sun beds and a large parasol. Below the pool area, a further terrace provides another peaceful sitting-out area and access to the fully landscaped garden.

At the entrance to the house, the Thai-styled roof extends over an open area to a maid’s quarters, providing a large cool, shaded parking area for a car. Directly beneath this car deck there is a ‘secret garden’, which is ideal for quiet meditation

Villa Mussoorie is altogether a romantic and relaxing retreat. It is ideal for one or two couples, with plenty of space for all. It is the perfect place for a secluded get-away.
