Taling Ngam is situated in the South West of Koh Samui, about forty-five minutes from the airport and forty minutes from Chaweng Beach. The area is a world away from the rest of the island, with an almost mystic and untouched view presented in glorious golden light. Taling Ngam is famous for its views over to the Five Islands, the main land and the sunsets over the Marine Park. The Five Islands restaurant is an idyllic spot to have lunch offering delicious and unusual cuisine.

The lovely, hidden away beach is dominated by the Baan Taling Ngam resort, which climbs from the beachfront all the way up the hillside.

Taling Ngam boasts small, uninhabited beaches with crystal clear waters, perfect for relaxing beach holidays and snorkeling. From this area you can easily access some of the most famous attractions on the island. You can visit the spectacular Namuang waterfalls either by foot or on elephant-back.

Taling Ngam village is picturesque and retained its Thai character. You can grab at bite to eat at some of the local Thai restaurants along the beach. It was here, at the remains of the Gorgonbula Temple, that the local people derived their entire village mythology presenting them with the title, ‘Bulas. The village thrives on traditional fishing, and the locals will happily invite you to witness the workings and catches, of their trade.

Alternatively, enjoy the newer western hideaways offering good food, drink and sundowners in an unmatchable setting. Sunbathing and swimming are the two favourite pass-times here, and for good reason. The area is unimaginably relaxing.

Taling Ngam Villas

Like Lipa Noi, Taling Ngam is a very residential area with only a few hotels and beach resorts. There are mostly private holiday villas and no apartments are currently available. The holiday villas in the area are developed with the setting in mind, making the most of the ethereal beauty of the surroundings.
Authentic Thai town, Nathon, is within easy reach, and ideal for an afternoon’s shopping and lunching at very affordable prices. This in turn connects Taling Ngam villas to the main land via the regular Seatran Ferry.
