Alexander Payne - Ban Laem Sor - October 31st, 2007
Dear Lesley,
I am writing this to you on the basis that you were our point of contact along with the knowledge that you will pass a copy to both of the Directors of the company ( I believe that one of the Directors is your husband)
When we initially decided on Koh Samui as our holiday destination, we really had no idea what web site to visit to find villas or houses for rent. After some intensive ?googling? and a couple of false starts through another website, we finally decided on using Samui Villas and Homes. Given that you don?t have Pay Pal, and that one can?t pay through a credit card guarantee, there was a certain amount of concern on our part as to whether your company, let alone the villa, actually existed (God knows there are many scams like this on the web). Our confidence was built however through some detective work of our own and through the efficient and professional communication with yourself. With that background out of the way, I am writhing on behalf of our group to tell you what a FANTASTIC time we had. We pretty much thought we were just renting a property and getting a continental breakfast as part of it. We didn?t realise that we would be spoilt to the point where we are having trouble adjusting back into our normal lives! From the moment we arrived, nothing was too much trouble. Everyone we came into contact with from Samui Villas and Homes were polite, professional, helpful and courteous. Yourself from the outset, then of course Ay and Pai also. The standouts were Rung and Mek, the staff at the Villa. They were absolute delights; we all agreed that they were a highlight of our stay, We really didn?t expect the level of attention they gave us, but they were wonderfully helpful whilst always being mindful of our privacy.
I spent many years working within Hyatt and Sheraton hotels internationally and I have to say that Rung and Mek are true hospitality people. As you're probably aware, on the night of Henry's birthday dinner (when the chef was coming in to cook), I asked Ay ( at short notice) if it was possible to organise a couple of Thai dancers to do a private show whilst we had dinner. Given that this request was at 9 am of the day we wanted them, I thought it would be a stretch. Ay shot into action and by 11 am ( whilst having a delicious massage poolside), she passed me the details of when the dancers would arrive, how much it would cost and assured me that Rung and Mek understook also. So that afternoon,we bundled into the car and took Henry (and his wife Claire) on a road trip to a ?mystery destination? for pre dinner drinks. We blindfolded them and had them believe we were near Bo Phut. In fact, we had returned to the villa and sat them down at the Cabana by the pool. To our amazement, Rung and Mek had: - moved the dining table poolside - set the table with full linen and made a flower arrangement centre piece. - floated flowers in the pool - dotted tea-light holders all around the pool and property - made sweet little vases of flowers that were sitting all around. - Made a Happy Birthday sign for Henry that was on the wall of the cabana. So we arrive back, with our 2 blindfolded hostages, and were stunned to find that we didn?t just have 2 Thai dancers, we had a 6 piece Thai band AND 6 dancers ready and waiting for this private show!!!! Claire, Henry?s wife , was so moved that she actually cried. That evening, when Claire and Henry went to bed, they found a gift and birthday card from Rung and Mek sitting on their bed. This was just one example of many instances where Rung and Mek went way beyond the call of duty. They have a deep desire to please, and by the time we departed we all had a tear in our eyes as we said our goodbyes. Another amazing thing that happened was that on day 2 bulldozers began construction on the property next door. Whilst we were having massages Ay arrived and was concerned with the level of noise. Ay called Pai, who arrived in due course. Pai kindly informed me that the noise would stop (we thought she meant just whilst we were having massages). No, Pai had organized for the construction to stop for the duration of our 2 week stay!!!
Unbelievable. Lesley, EVERYTHING about our stay was perfect. Samui Villas and Homes clearly have the highest standards when it comes to hospitality and service being paramount. Thank you for what we all believe to have been the best holiday we have ever had. Thank you to Ay and Pai for all their assistance. And finally, a big thank you and big hugs to Rung and Mek for just being them. We will be back ( and we?ll all be referring others).
We will go to whichever villas Rung and Mek are at!
If you could please pass a copy of this letter to all concerned, it would be much appreciated

Hellmer Family - Ban Laem Sor - January 29th, 2005
Hi!
We would like to thank you all for a wonderful stay at Samui and Ban Laem Sor over the Christmas holiday!
It was indeed perfect for us and the staff made it even more enjoyable and very comfortable! Also, we were, of course very very glad to be on Samui rather than on Thailands west coast at the time of our holiday.
We are truly sorry for Thailand and all the losses in lives and infrastructure. We wish you all the best for the future!
Many thanks and kind regards,
Sofi Hellmer
